Taking things personally
It's an option. Pushing a proposal because it’s your proposal.
Such an approach, however, often leads to discussions that are unpleasant for attendees. People get irritated or angry. Relationships and a team spirit get harmed.
There is another way.
Striving to be objective.
Proactively considering limitations of your proposal. Being aware of and acknowledge the advantages of other proposals. Choosing a solution based on mutually understandable pros and cons.
Becoming a curious observer, a detached messenger of facts and opinions. Including your own.
It’s an appealing state of mind, worth the higher mental investment.
Perhaps an occasional subjective push from a team’s authority would be eventually needed. However, it would come from a different angle, based on mutual understanding of each other.
